About the project: Jewelers of America uses its Web site to provide value-added content, tools and services to its members. But the trade association’s old site was difficult to navigate, and members rarely visited because they had the impression of stale content and a frustrating user experience. In 2009, JA merged with a sister organization, Jewelry Information Center, to provide consolidated services to jewelry retailers and suppliers, and the association needed a Web site that communicated the value of membership to its expanded audience.
Night Writer worked with JA to:
- Design a Web strategy based on business requirements
- Select and implement a new content management system to promote more efficient updating of Web content
- Develop a new information architecture, navigation and page wireframes to organize information more clearly and communicate JA’s inherent benefits
- Create a visual design to support the association’s new brand identity and promote high-priority content
- Manage site technical development, content production and QA
